Netizens resent the suspension of 3 million Weibo accounts with homeowners

A Chinese commentator who became famous on social networking services (SNS) with a strong anti-U.S. tendency was found to have a house in the U.S., drawing criticism in China.

According to Taiwanese media on the 20th (local time), the main SNS account (weibo), a commentator Wiri (66), who has been active under the pseudonym "Tsumanan" and has expressed strong anti-American and nationalist tendencies, was suspended on the same day.

His Weibo account reportedly had as many as 3.09 million followers. Currently, his account has a message saying, "This account has been suspended (in violation of related legal regulations)."

Willy has been known as a patriotic star by publishing articles such as "America is the enemy of the world, a huge lump of tumors that exploit countries around the world."

The fact that Willy purchased a house in California, the U.S., in 2010 was revealed as an anonymous revelation, which put Chinese netizens on the cutting board. Willy spent $257,000 (about 340 million won) to buy the house, and the current market price is reportedly 580,000 dollars (about 770 million won).

Chinese netizens were angry, saying, "257,000 dollars was the money that 137 Chinese workers had to collect after wasting food and beverage for a year in 2010," and "Is it anti-American and is going to the U.S. a life?"

Meanwhile, Willy was also criticized by Chinese who recognized him while visiting Washington to meet his family in the United States in 2012. "Banmi is just my job, and coming to the U.S. where I have a wife and a daughter is just my life," Wiri said, adding, "Please distinguish between work and life."
